Avengers Academy AU History

History (more details to be added and subject to change):

As a kid, he was taken into the Syndicate Academy with his sister. Initially, he was supposed to be disposed of as he did not possess any meta-human abilities. Instead, they were convinced to train Hei into something to give meta-humans something to fear. From then on, as a kid, he was trained in the art of being an assassin. Lying, sneaking, and of course, killing. He faced off against numerous meta-humans and other assassins, and with his squad, always came out on top. He even earned the reputation of being the Black Reaper, something for other organization members to fear. Because of his age, his face was always hidden with a mask, so no one knew who he was.

At least until the accident.

During an experiment to give him abilities like his sister, which was molecular manipulation (low-level though), it succeeded...though he blew up half the academy in the process. The Syndicate refused to tell him where his sister was, who was lost during the accident with an unknown fate. Without the only thing keeping him there, Hei quickly turned on the Academy, fleeing to find her on his own. Of course, he was hunted down.

Eventually, he was found by Nick Fury, and told him everything, provided they find his sister too and save her. After an agreement, Hei enrolls in Avengers Academy to start a new life while trying to find his sister. Surrounded by more positivity, if a bit weird, he adapts and smiles much more than his canon self.

He keeps up a smile and his act not to lie. Rather, he does so to avoid slipping back into the role of the Black Reaper once again, the same being who could fall asleep even after doing the worst things. He doesn't like killing of course, hence why he doesn't want to slip back into the role of the assassin. He genuinely wants to help people and likes feeling good. Though once angry enough or needing to suppress a living target lethally, there's no stopping the return of his assassin half. No more messing around. No more talking. He'll see his foe dead one way or another. He can also snap at allies as well if his buttons are pushed too much, but he's not so unstable he'd stab or electrocute them to death.

Abilities:

Hei retains all abilities and items from canon, though will obtain better equipment as time goes on. While a highly skilled human, he's still just as vulnerable as others, the exception being to bullets, and only with his jacket.
